International Left-Handers Day

August 13th

On August 13, 1976, an organization called LI declared International Left-Handers Day to be an annual event. This particular date was chosen because it fell on Friday the 13th and was a way to poke fun at the superstitions that have plagued left-handed people for way too long. The event is observed now worldwide so left-handers everywhere can rejoice and increase public awareness of the advantages and disadvantages of being left-handed.

It falls on Saturday this year, 13's my favorite number!

As I find out how others are planning to tout their handedness this year, I'll post them. Be fun to see how others spread the word that we're not cursed, we're special!

Yes, ma'am, sir, we're

Left Handed AND Proud Of IT

I've redesigned my Lefty Shoppe, and there are plenty of shirts, mugs, magnets, buttons and other stuff at my CafePress Store to help you celebrate the occasion. Stop by and shop... Celebrate Lefties Day every day!
